Askina® DresSil Sacrum
Adhesive silicone foam dressing with border for the sacrum
Askina® DresSil Sacrum is a multilayer self-adherent soft silicone wound dressing with border for the sacrum that provides significant absorption capacity due to its excellent wicking properties. It helps to maintain a moist wound environment conducive to natural healing. It has been specially designed for wounds occurring in the sacrum, covering the areas most prone to the development of pressure ulcers. For low exuding wounds, the dressing can be left in place for up to one week allowing for longer undisturbed wound healing. The soft silicone adhesive layer minimizes the trauma and pain during dressing changes.
The soft polyurethane foam conforms to the natural contours of the sacral area making it comfortable to wear, while the waterproof outer layer protects the wound from dirt and bacteria.
Askina® DresSil Sacrum is indicated for the management of low to moderately exuding wounds partial to full thickness wounds for the following wounds;
- Pressure ulcers
- First and second-degree burns
Askina® DresSil Sacrum may also be used as an aid for the prevention of skin breakdown.

Material
Askina® DresSil Sacrum is composed of four layers:
- Layer 1: Outer polyurethane film
- Layer 2: Tie layer
- Layer 3: Absorbent polyurethane foam
- Layer 4: Silicone adhesive
