Askina® Scar Repair

Soft silicone dressing for scar management

Askina® Scar Repair is a thin, flexible, comfortable soft silicone dressing for scar management. The dressing is designed for recently closed wounds to prevent abnormal scarring.

It also can be used for the treatment of already formed hypertrophic and keloid scars (C-sections, tummy tucks, injuries, burns, surgeries, etc.) to help with scar reduction.

Silicone is widely used in scar management due to its numerous benefits:

  • Hydration: Silicone dressings maintain a hydrated environment for the scar, which is essential for proper healing. This hydration helps the scars to become lighter, more pliable, and flatter, making them less noticeable.1
  • Silicone can reduce the production of collagen fibers, which helps in preventing the formation of hypertrophic and keloid scars.2
  • Symptom relief: Silicone can alleviate symptoms such as itchiness and discomfort associated with scars.2

Askina® Scar Repair is a repositionable, waterproof dressing that can be worn continuously for 24 hours and removed once a day when showering or bathing to inspect and wash the skin. It also provides UV protection.

Silicone adhesive allows a painless removal of the dressing, and the same dressing can be used for 3 to 7 days.
